Futebol Clube de Ferreiras has currently about 40 students from the Ferreiras and Albufeira Poente Groups swimming weekly in the Albufeira Municipal Swimming Pools. The outcome of this specific is, additional cost to the Educational Facility or the guardians.

The costs are borne by the Municipality of Albufeira, recognising its responsibility for inclusion and social support for children with disabilities.

These classes are developed to cater for the most diverse skill sets and the advantages of these classes are exceeding all expectations. We are looking for ways to work students actively to provide work that develops their autonomy, social interaction, communication and many other skills that allow them to develop for a truly integrated life.

These projects often have other benefits and can open new opportunities. For example, two students from the Albufeira Poente Group took advantage to do their Curricular Internships by assisting Swimming Technicians during classes.

Two other students developed their swimming skills to such an extent that they were signed-up for the Competition Swimming Team of Futebol Clube de Ferreiras and will be able to pursue athletes careers.
